I LOVE your laundry room...your right that it is a mothers dream come true!!! And all those windows...how wonderful.
  • Irene Joy · 8 months ago
Oh man. I. Am. Jealous. :) I have a "laundry closet" with the cheapest washer and dryer money can buy. :) But I only have half as many kids. For now. :) And our laundry closet is connected to the "office" which means most of the time I have laundry piled up all around me quietly screaming "wash me!" while I try and escape to blogger land. Great escape huh? :) One day...sigh. :)

That is the sweetest most amazing laundry room ever!!!
  • Sarah @ BecomingSarah.com · 8 months ago
I wish I'd had the foresight to think about laundry when we bought our house. Our laundry is in the garage and I cannot even begin to count the number of times I've washed a load twice because I caught a rat in the act of sneaking into my laundry.

    Shudder.

I wouldn't mind hangin out in that laundry room!! mine's more of the dark, dismal kind...ONE fine day when we own a house, I'd love for it to be a more inviting place!........maybe then i'd be more interested in carting all the laundry in there! Love the windows, too...and how special you can think of your grandma every time you see them...i love how life gives us special gifts!

I think having laundry room envy means I'm officially NOT in my 20's anymore :)
  • Monica · 8 months ago
My dad also makes stained glass and we have it all over our home. It really is beautiful!!
  • Kate · 8 months ago
SUCH a great laundry room. What a GREAT place to do all that tedious work!

Can you e-mail me your Ph# so we can set up a playdate? Shelly gave it to me a while back, but of course I lost it.

    I'll bring my laundry. ;)
  • Erin · 8 months ago
I wouldn't mind doing laundry so much if I had a room like yours!

    Beautiful stained glass memories. :)
  • Claire · 8 months ago
If we ever move (I pray every day we do), I will have a laundry room. Yours is so cute. Currently, my washer and dryer are in my kitchen. My husband planned it that way when we added onto our house. I didn't have a whole lot of say, but I will be VERY vocal next time.
  • anne · 8 months ago
Laundry day {and rainy} here today too! I'm Listening to the dryer pound away as I type.
Just found you...but I have to say I'm loving what I've read thus far...and mucho kudos to you...4 boys and now twin girlies!! WOW. :)
    Nice to "meet" you.
LOVE the stained glass...it was a fabulous idea and it looks great!

Great laundry room! Can I come to your house and do my laundry??
  • The Reality of Happily Ever Af · 8 months ago
I can ONLY imagine! There is enough laundry for a load every two days and it's just me and the husband! UGH!

Love the stained glass (and the picture of you and your grandmother... fitting for the story of the glass) and your BRIGHT laundry room!
  • Goldylocks · 8 months ago
Rainy here as well today. I too have tons and tons of laundrey to fold and put away once the fellas are fast asleep.

Your laundrey room is so cheerful and sunny. I think I would actually enjoy doing laundrey if I had a room like that. For now, I enjoy the cold dark dungeon..er basement.
  • Patti · 8 months ago
OMG, so jealous of your laundry room! I am sure it is a place where you spend a LOT of time so good for you for making it a little sanctuary of your own, with a sweet tribute to your Grandma! :)
  • Jennifer · 8 months ago
WOW, I would to have your laundry room! It looks so neat. Enjoy reading your blog:)

Wow. What an awesome, cheery room! Almost makes you wanna do laundry, doesn't it? ;) I love the tribute to your grandma. You have made the perfect setting for her work.

A very un-rainy day here! I am sitting outside. Couldn't be happier. Have to do laundry later--only one load (but only two people live here)! I love doing laundry. Someday I'll come over and help you. That would be a looooooong drive though.
  • Amy · 8 months ago
    Wow! A gorgeous laundry room!!

My dad does Stained Glass as well, it can be so pretty! What color is that yellow in your laundry room? I love it!
  • Reina Danielle · 8 months ago
What a great laundry room...I love the yellow color! Wish I had counters to fold my laundry on, I have to use my bed :)

Your laundry room is so bright and cheery! I wish I had a great space dedicated to laundry. Maybe that way it wouldn't be one of my least favorite chores!
  • da momma · 8 months ago
cute post! neat picture of you and gma and the glass she had made...family is special!
  • Jenny · 8 months ago
That laundry room is awesome. A main floor laundry was at the top of my must haves when we bought this house. It's not huge, but it works well.

I have so many of my Memaw's crafts in my house. She's been gone for 3 years and I miss her so much.

I would love to know more abot the diapers you us!
  • Kristin · 8 months ago
LOVE It. I have a laundry room with those washer and dryers. However I so have counter envy. I would love to have a room large enough to have that much counter to fold on. Right now I fold on my bed - but at least it makes me put it away right after I fold it since I have to sleep there.

I need to add photos to ours- great idea. Love how you incorporated your grandmother into the room
  • Rebekah · 8 months ago
Definitely a not rainy day. It's 102 degrees today!

Speaking of laundry......in the past year or so I've wondered about "organic" laundry detergent and its benefits. Do you use organic and what do you recommend? I figure of all people you might know! :) Would appreciate your thoughts, when you find the time.

    Thanks,
    Melissa

  • Alicia O. & the gang · 8 months ago
There are 3 things my mother says I should buy weather I can afford them or not...a washer, a dryer and a dishwasher! I have NOT purchased any of the 3, but would love to. Our washer/dryer are hand-me-downs from a relative who purchased new ones. They work...not great...but they work! Would love to hear your appliance recommendations though!

  • Frances Vineyard · 8 months ago
I do love your laundry room. I have always told my husband that I want a large one in our next house.
  • Elaine A. · 8 months ago
I probably woulda bought that house just for the laundry room too - so light and fresh- I think it would actually make me want to do the laundry! : )
  • Brandi · 8 months ago
I love your laundry room! Those windows! My laundry room is a decent size, but it only has one little window. I always fold our laundry upstairs anyway, so our counter (which isn't nearly as big as yours!) is mostly a junk magnet. Also, we bought the cheapest washer and dryer we could get almost 6 years ago, and I've regretted ever since. Especially now that I'm constantly doing laundry! I still can't believe how much 2 little baby girls have increased the amount of laundry in this house! Our dryer already doesn't work as well as it should, so we've been seriously talking about getting a set of front-loaders in the next year or so. I. Can't. Wait.

I have said it before and I will say it again...I love your laundry room. I love the sun catchers in the windows. Since I love doing laundry I would love a space like that. Enjoy.
  • just jamie · 8 months ago
How is it that I can be so inspired by a (gasp) laundry room? I love it. See, YOU, my friend, make even laundry rooms look lovely. You've got the touch!
  • Sarah · 8 months ago
I love your laundry room...it is so pretty and sunny! But I guess you do want the room you spent alot of time in to be bright and cheery! :)
  • Sarena · 8 months ago
I think that when we build our next house I will have to have a lot of windows in my laundry room. Thanks for sharing. I'm just going to imagine I'm in your laundry room next time!
  • Reid Family · 8 months ago
Kangen Water or Alkaline Water will take all kinds of stains out of clothes. Just soak them in it or pour in the washer when you run it. You can get it from some health food stores if they have a filter for it or from those who are distributing the machine.

Also, letting clothes sit in the sun--even sun coming through a window will make many stains disappear, especially baby poop!
  • Stacey · 8 months ago
Oh my I would love to have that counter to fold laundry on...I am so jellous. My laundry room is not very big and is the mudd room also and with triplets there seems to be many shoes in the over flowing basket.
  • Terri · 8 months ago
I love your laundry room....it is huge compared to mine!

Your stained glass keepsakes of your grandmothers...are priceless treasures indeed...I know you will cherish them forever!

Love the girls pics above the sink and also the pic of you and your grandmother...

    Hugs
    Terri
